Zootrophion

Zootrophion is a very unsusal genus of small sized plants that unique "windowed" flowers. Zootrophions are related to Pleurothallus and are easy to grow and bloom. They enjoy moderately bright light, warm-intermediate temperatures, good humidity and air movement. They grow well in plastic pots with moss or a seedling bark (Paph) mix. According to Dr. Robert Dressler, there are four species of Zootrophion found in Panama.

Zootrophion

Zootrophion dayanum - (Colombia) Spectacular!! Red roundish 6" leaves contrasted by large 1.5" flowers opening to glossy yellow inside, mottled purple outside. Outstanding! Grow intermediate, with moderate light, evenly moist.
