FLASKS & COMPOTS |
Our lab continues to run amuck (practice makes perfect)! We have Phrags, Paphs, Lycastes, and Epidendrums available, priced to move. Now is a great time to restock your seedling area with some exciting species and unique hybrids.
The Phrags are super vigorous, and will be ready for 2" pots 6 months after deflasking! Not only have we have been pleased with the quality of the flasks that our lab produces, but also with the quality, health and fast growth of the seedlings, once they are planted out.
Flasks and community pots (compots) move quickly, and new flasks arrive almost every month. Due to the dynamic nature and relatively short "shelf-life" of
flasks, these offers may be withdrawn at any time.
Seedlings may be shipped out of flask (except foreign orders) to prevent
damage from jumbling inside the flasks. If in flask shipping is desired,
shipping costs may increase (actual cost) and no guarantee may be made
that the seedlings will arrive undamaged. Historically, we have been successful in
shipping flasks to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South America and Asia with little, if any damage. Minimum foreign flask order $US 1,000. Foreign flask orders will be shipped by Fedex (or in certain situations INternational Express Mail), and require a US Federal Phytosanitary Certificate ($35-100). Please be familiar with your country's regulations regarding the importation of orchid flasks.
WSO 4013 Epidendrum mixtecanum ('Woodstream' CBR/AOS x self) - Very rare fragrant unique Mexican species, never before offered in cultivation. Now for the first time we were able to produce a few bottles. Very few to be released.

Mule-ear type with tall stems of large showy flowers with large lazer-yellow lips. 'Penns Creek' is better than 'Woodstream' AM/AOS! Easy. Grow warm-intermediate, moderately bright. Very Limited. Good growers.

NEW! WSO 3728 [Crazy Horse x Rose Crown] x spicerianum) x barbigerum semi-album) - One of several miniature Paphiopedilum crosses we are working on. Looking for miniature reds.
NEW! WSO 3734 Paphiopedilum barbigerum semi-album x sib - (China) Paph barbigerums are becoming rare in cultivation. Fortunately we have a fine collection of them to use in breeding mini-complex hybrids. However, we coulf not resist making this sibling cross. Both parents are selected from our cross of barbigerum album 'Sheep Mountain' AM/AOS x barbigerum aureum 'Amber Glow' HCC/AOS. None of the plants of this cross came out pure album, but many had large flowers of good form on miniature plants. By doing a sibling cross we expect that a proportion will bloom out as true albums, and maybe even the rarer yellow aurem form. These are strong growing seedlings, and as it often is with these crosses, few will be released.
NEW! WSO 3754 Honeytime 'Papa Aroha' HCC/AOS x Lippewunder 'Cattaraugus Creek') - Very large yellow, orange, red halo flowers with dark median lines on petals and dorsal sepal. 'Cattaraugus Creek' is almost the size of a dinner plate! Truly unique. A high proportion of good quality flowers. The best will be awesome! Few to be released.
